Please be healthy and safe. Observe all common sense protocols when having personal services.

My career includes some of the leading upscale salons in Manhattan's glamorous shopping districts, including 5th Avenue, 57th Street, Bloomingdale's neighborhood and Rockefeller Center.  Salons come and go, but my clientele has grown and remained loyal.  Whether it is the Sherry-Netherland Hotel, backstage on Broadway or in the Green Room at Carnegie Hall, my clients have in common the best cut for their face and the best color for their personality.  Men and women, young and old, mother and daughter, rich and famous, regular and normal, gray or purple – all are within my experience.

I could not maintain my large, demanding and loyal clientele without skilled assistants.  Teaching and developing my many assistants, some of whom have gone on to successful careers of their own, has been a special delight for me.
I have attended numerous professional training seminars  and I have earned many product education certificates for most leading color brands.  I focus on color chemistry and biology.
Career Highlights
In 2010, to satisfy the needs of my clients who have multiple services such as color, straightening and heat treatment, after much experimentation, I created my own line of shampoo, conditioning and styling products known as Hair Artist Mary Exclusive Formulations.  I formulated them also to be beneficial for medically challenged clients, whose treatments have affected the hair and scalp in detrimental ways. These products are featured exclusively at Salon Marc Harris in Manhattan and online only at this site.  Sales are growing and over 80% of sales are from loyal, repeat clients.  My products are not on amazon, ebay, etsy or anywhere other than here.

Among the many highlights, my time as the backstage hair dresser for
Chicago on Broadway and my time as the on-call green-room hairdresser for CBS Television and my time at the VMAs and other award shows come to  mind.  But better than all these is the daily satisfaction of clients taking selfies as they leave my chair. Or, maybe it’s the brides, or maybe it’s the Ronald McDonald kids where I volunteer, or maybe…something that happens tomorrow!
